Kenya: eTA replaces visa
05/01/2024 00:00

Kenya has abolished the visa requirement. Instead, travelers must apply for an electronic travel authorization (eTA) before traveling starting from 05.01.2024.

Kenyan citizens and nationals of EAC partner countries are exempt from the eTA.

All other visitors, including infants and children, who wish to travel to the Republic of Kenya must present an approved electronic travel authorization (eTA) prior to travel.

The processing time depends on the type of eTA and the nationality of the travelers. The standard processing time is at least three working days.

Different documents are required depending on the purpose of travel.

The OEVKG consular advisors will be happy to answer any questions you may have.

China: Hague Apostille Convention in force from November 7, 2023
06/11/2023 00:00

The Hague Apostille Convention will enter into force between Austria and the People's Republic of China on November 7, 2023. This eliminates the need to have documents from the respective issuing state legalized by the accredited foreign representations of the target state for use in the target state. Legalization for public documents will therefore be replaced by the so-called „apostille“. The apostille confirms that the signature is genuine and that the issuer of the document is authorized to do so.
