The submission of documents takes place from Monday – Friday, from 09:00.
Applicants in the following categories are exempt from submitting their fingerprints for visas with single and double entry until further notice (as of 10.8.2023). This regulation is initially valid until 31.12.2024.
Applicants who apply for a visa in a different category or for multiple entries are still required to appear in person at the consular provider to hand in their fingerprints, provided that this has not been done in the past (since 9.12.1019) with the same passport at a Chinese Visa Application Center. Fingerprints remain stored for 5 years for a passport, provided it is valid for this period.
PLEASE NOTE: In order to obtain a multiple-entry visa, the traveler must present at least one copy of a Chinese pre-entry visa that has been used twice, i.e. with which he/she has entered China twice. Only then will a multiple-entry visa be issued valid for 6 months. If a multiple-entry visa for 6 months has been used at least three times, a multiple-entry visa for 12 months can be issued.
Please note that the consulate is responsible for deciding whether to issue the visa (frequency of entry, duration of stay, etc.).IMPORTANT:
From 01.12.2023 to 31.12.2025 citizens of the French Republic, the Federal Republic of Germany, the Italian Republic, the Kingdom of the Netherlands, the Kingdom of Spain and Malaysia, whoühave a valid, ordinary passportücan travel to the United Kingdom;
those who have a valid, ordinary passport and enjoy visa exemption,
if the purpose of the trip is for business, tourism, visiting family and friends or transit and the stay does not exceed 15 days after entering the People's Republic of China.
From 14.03.2024 to to 31.12.2025 can citizens of Austria, Switzerland, Ireland, Hungary, Belgium and Luxembourg, who ühave a valid ordinary passport, who enjoy visa exemption;if the trip is for the following purposes: business, tourism, visiting family and friends and transit, and the stay does not exceed 15 days after entering the People's Republic of China.
It is also expressly pointed out that the visa requirement remains in force for nationals of the above-mentioned countries if their travel purposes go beyond those mentioned above, their stay lasts longer than 15 days and if they (nationals of Malaysia are excluded in this case) hold a service passport.

In addition to a comprehensive preliminary check of the documents for accuracy and completeness, we also offer a MEET & GREET service, where travelers meet with one of our employees on site on the submission date and are accompanied through the application process. In this case, our employee will take all the documents printed out to the appointment and the traveler only needs to bring their passport and, if necessary, original passport photos. As we can submit the documents at our own agency counter, the process is much quicker. The ÖVKG takes care of payment on site and collection of the finished passport.
Extensive preliminary review of the documents by ÖVKG in advance. The submission of documents and registration of fingerprints is carried out independently by the traveler WITHOUT a VKG contact person on site. Please allow for longer waiting times here.
The consular and Visa Application Center fees must be paid by the traveler on site (only ATM or cash possible). If the completed passport is to be collected and returned by the ÖVKG, the traveler must bring the original collection slip to us or send it as soon as possible. The passport can only be collected with this original receipt.
HOW TO BOOK YOUR CHINA VISA WITH US:
Please start the order to the ÖVKG üvia our website www.oevkg.at (a one-time registration is required for first-time access). If you already have a customer number, please enter it in the "Customer number" field.
You can choose here during the order process whether we are allowed to complete the visa application for China for you or whether you do this yourself. If we complete the visa application for you, you only need to enter the traveler's personal data once. With each subsequent order, the data is retrieved automatically and only needs to be adjusted if necessary. You can also have the data to be entered entered by the travelers themselves by releasing the order for processing by the traveler via links. You can find a brief explanation of this HIER!
If you do not book the order online at www.oevkg.at, please use the China-Offline „Auftragsformular“ or for offline help with filling out the form „China-Ausfüllhilfe“. You can then fill it out and send it to wien@oevkg.at . Please note that we will have to charge an additional fee for offline bookings or offline help.
PLEASE NOTE – we would like to point out to all travelers that ALL fields in the China visa application or in the form " China-Ausfüllhilfe" are mandatory fields and must be filled in conscientiously and correctly. For example, salary details cannot be skipped, general information such as „EU“ or „Asia“ is not permitted for the countries traveled to, and all places of work and education from the 9th grade onwards must also be entered.
