Beginning October 15, 2021, tourists with valid visas will again be allowed to enter India on charter flights (group tourism only), and from November 15, 2021, individual tourists with valid visas will also be allowed to enter India again. Please note that not all EU member states are on the list of Russian authorities for which entry restrictions are already in place again. Austria has been part of the list with entry restrictions since June 21, 2021. If you are not taking a direct flight from Austria, you should find out in advance whether the transit country is on the list for which entry restrictions apply. If not, this can lead to considerable difficulties when entering the country and can also result in travelers not being allowed to enter Russia.
Furthermore, all people living in Austria who are traveling to Russia and do not have Austrian citizenship are advised to carry their certificate of permanent residence or registration certificate or permanent residence card issued by the Austrian authorities with them when traveling to Russia in order to avoid problems at border control. A registration certificate is NOT sufficient!
