CHINA - for business visas NO PU invitation necessary anymore

The Chinese consulate in Vienna announces that as of 01.07.2022, an official PU invitation issued by a local authority in China is NO longer required for business visa applications. A business invitation issued by the Chinese partner company is sufficient for the application.

The business invitation from the Chinese partner company must be issued on company paper and bear a stamp and signature. It must also include the planned date of entry, the purpose of entry, the passport details of the applicant and the contact details of the inviting party.

News - CHINA- Covid tests and flights- Business travelers

Dear ladies and gentlemen,

We would like to inform you about the following changes regarding PCR tests, the abolition of antigen tests and the facilitation of flights to China.

From 2.7.2022 transit flights are now allowed again!!!

Travelers from Austria are therefore no longer bound to direct flights from Vienna to China.

Please note the information under point 3 for convalescents.

Processing time Japanese Consulate

Please note that the processing time for visa issuance at the consulate of Japan currently always takes 14 days due to the high volume of applications. There is no possibility of express processing.

USA - Book interview appointments at the US consulate well in advance

Please note that due to the high volume, interview appointments at the US consulate are currently only granted 1-2 months after the application has been submitted. We therefore ask you to submit any applications in good time so that there are no delays.

INDONESIA - Visa on arrival possible again

The Indonesian authorities have announced that a visa on arrival has been possible again for citizens of 60 nations since 29.04.2022 (&Austria has been on this list since 29.04.2022).

The following criteria must be met:

  • Stay of up to 30 days
  • Visa will be issued on arrival at the airport
  • Proof of complete vaccination against COVID-19
  • A passport that is valid for at least six months beyond the date of the visit
  • A booking confirmation must be carried for the return or onward journey
