The Embassy of Turkmenistan has announced that foreign nationals are currently banned from entering the country due to the pandemic, and for this reason no visas will be issued or processed until further notice.

India- Quarantine

Attention: From 01.12.2021, 00.01 Indian time, all travelers from Austria (including fully COVID-19 immunized persons) must additionally take a COVID-19 test upon entry and wait for the result at the airport/border crossing. Persons who test negative must then take a 7-day home quarantine and must take another test on the 8th day; if this test is negative, the quarantine can be replaced by a 7-day self-monitoring. Travelers with a positive test result and their contact persons are isolated, both institutional and hotel/home quarantine are possible. Travelers under the age of 5 are exempt from mandatory testing.

New entry requirements for Austria from 22.11.2021

On November 22, the 7th amendment to the COVID-19 Entry Regulation 2021 comes into force. It brings the following changes for entry to Austria:

  • 2.5 G certificate 
  • is required for entry into the country
  • Antigen and antibody tests lose their validity as proof. Excluded from this are:  
    • Commuters (work, school/study, family purposes, life partner): They require a 3-G certificate.
    • Persons who are subject to compulsory education: The Ninja Pass is considered proof of a low epidemiological risk. This applies in the week in which the test intervals are observed, also on Friday, Saturday and Sunday of that week and (if testing is ensured immediately after entry) on Monday of the following week
  • The previously privileged duration of PCR tests of 7 days for commuters will be reduced to a validity of 72 hours. Antigen tests are only valid for 24 hours.
  • Proof of vaccination:
    • The minimum interval between vaccinations against the coronavirus must be 14 days
    • .
    • The validity period of the proof of vaccination is shortened. Proof is now only valid for 9 months, with a transitional period until December 6.
