Unfortunately, the Nigerian consulate is currently experiencing technical problems and issuing visas is sometimes delayed by several weeks.

Visa applications in which an academic title (e.g. Dr., Mag., Ing.,...) is stated in the name will NOT be accepted with immediate effect.
We therefore ask you to omit academic titles in the visa application and to enter the name in the visa application as it appears in the reading line of the passport.

The Chinese consulate has announced that there will be changes to the HDC code application process from November 14, 2022.
In order to obtain the HDC code, only a PCR test (nasopharyngeal swab) must be carried out within 48 hours before departure and the HDC code must be applied for.
For transit passengers, the PCR test (nasopharyngeal swab) can be carried out either in Austria or in the transit country. It is important that the PCR test is carried out within 48 hours before departure to China. For example, if the flight is booked on the Vienna-Frankfurt-Shanghai route, then the 48 hours count for the Frankfurt departure time. The HDC code must be applied for where the PCR test is carried out, i.e. either in Austria or in the transit country.

We would like to inform you that Cuba has been listed on the official terror list („State Sponsor of Terrorism“) of the US authorities since January 2021. Officially, people who have been to Cuba since then can still apply for an ESTA and this will be issued in most cases. However, there are reports that people who have a travel stamp from Cuba in their passport have been denied entry. Therefore, please check the validity of your ESTA again shortly before entering the country. We recommend that people who have been in Cuba since January 2021 apply for a B visa at the US Consulate. Please allow sufficient lead time for this due to the lack of availability of appointments at the US Consulate.
