Travelers with a positive test result and their contact persons are isolated; institutional as well as hotel / home quarantines are possible. Travelers under the age of 5 are exempt from the test requirement.

United States - changes with 8th of November 2021
03/11/2021 10:26

From 8 November 2021, there will be far-reaching changes to the entry requirements to the US.

As of 08.11.2021, all air passengers (except those with residence permits in the US and US citizens) must be fully vaccinated and have to prove vaccination status before boarding an aircraft in the United States. The current state of play does not foresee the continuation of the application for a National Interest Exception.

Please find more information on the website of the US Consulate in Austria https://at.usembassy.gov/de/anforderungen-fuer-flugreisende-in-die-usa/ and https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/travelers/proof-of-vaccination.html#faq-exceptions

All passengers must submit a negative SARS-CoV-2 test certificate (PCR/NAAT or antigen test) to the airline before entering the USA. The test must not have been taken more than 3 days before departure.

This test is already required during boarding and must be carried for entry to the US.

+++This also applies to vaccinated travellers+++
