Dear ladies and gentlemen,

Many of you contacted us last week due to a WKO newsletter regarding planned facilitations for the submission of RUSSIA Business Visas from June 10, 2021.

Unfortunately, the Russian consulate was NOT able to confirm the published content.

As of today, the WKO has also changed its newsletter.

As of Friday, June 11, 2021, I can provide you with the following current information from the Russian Embassy:

• The Russian consular provider is now open again 3 days a week: Monday, Wednesday and Friday

The processing time for visas is currently as follows:

Normal processing                5 consular working days (approx. 1.5 weeks)

Express processing              2 consular working days (MO-MI, MI-FR, FR-MO) - this is only possible with an official FMS invitation

The following visas can be applied for:

• „WORK“ Visa formerly „technical assistance“ – Only with official invitation (FMS, TELEX)
• „BUSINESS“ Visas for crew members (pilots, flight attendants)
- Only with official invitation (FMS, TELEX)
• „BUSINESS“ Visas for travelers with COMPANY INVITATION- UNLESS YOU HAVE ADDITIONAL AUTHORIZATION. This authorization can be requested from the Russian partner company at http://services.government.ru/letters/form/. The visa can only be submitted with a traditional business invitation in Vienna once the approval has been received.
• „PRIVATE“ Visa for travelers with a private invitation

The following visas can currently NOT be applied for:

• „BUSINESS“ visas with normal business invitation WITHOUT additional approval from FSB
• „TOURIST“ Visa

We assume that there will be an opening or facilitation for the application of regular business tourist visas in the coming days/weeks, but unfortunately we cannot give a fixed date for this.

The consulate has not yet been able to confirm June 16.

As soon as we receive news from the Russian embassy, we will inform you immediately and ask you to be patient.

The Russian consulate will be open 3 days a week from 04.06.2021 - MONDAY, WEDNESDAY and FRIDAY

The processing time from 04.06.2021 is as follows:

• Normal processing             5 consular working days (approx. 1.5 weeks)
• Express processing            2 consular working days (MO-MI, MI-FR, FR-MO) - this is only possible with an official FMS invitation

From June 10, 2021, Austria will also be on the list of exempt countries. Austrian citizens will therefore be able to apply for a regular Russian business or tourist visa again from June 10, 2021. It will no longer be necessary to obtain an exemption (FSB exemption list) for the business or tourist visa. The business or tourist visa and the Austrian passport entitle the person to enter Russia if it is a regular direct flight from Austria or one of the countries listed below to Russia. Austrian Airlines and the Russian airline Aeroflot are already launching regular direct flights (scheduled flights) between Austria and Russia with effect from June 10, 2021. The only additional requirement remains a negative COVID-19 PCR test that is no more than 3 days old.

The consulate is currently unable to provide any information on the exact procedure. We will inform you about this as soon as possible.

The Consulate of Russia will be closed on 03.06.2021 (Corpus Christi) and 14.06.2021 (Russian public holiday)

The Consulate of South Korea informs that it will not accept visa applications for processing from 17.05.2021-19.05.2021 AND on 25.05.2021 and 28.05.2021 and will not allow passport pick-ups.

The Russian consulate has announced that it will be closed on 03.05.2021 and 10.05.2021

Currently, the consular provider is only open on Mondays and Thursdays - therefore no submission or collection is possible on the Austrian public holidays on 13.05.2021 and 24.05.2021.

Please note that the processing times will be delayed accordingly due to the closures.
