CHINA visa fingerprints - general information
03/12/2019 16:47

Dear ladies and gentlemen,

From Dec. 9, 2019, with few exceptions, ALL visa applicants will have to hand in their fingerprints when submitting their documents to the Chinese consular provider in Vienna. This applies to all visa categories.

Please note:

If you apply for a China visa via the VKG in the future, you have two application options:

  1. as before, without submitting fingerprints, as this has already been done at the Chinese consular provider in Vienna, and
  2. NEW: including the submission of fingerprints to the Chinese consular provider

When applying for a visa including the submission of fingerprints, you will be able to choose from the following options:

  • Pre-check (PRE-CHECK)
    • Pre-check of your digitally submitted documents by ÖVKG in combination with meet & greet service or appointment including collection by ÖVKG
  • Document preparation (completion assistance)
    • ÖVKG prepares the visa application for you and sends it to you in digital form ready for signature
  • Appointment for the submission of fingerprints
    • Meet & greet service: Appointment made by VKG with the Chinese consular provider with a personal VKG contact person on site when handing in the fingerprints; this service is only possible with a preliminary check (PRE-CHECK).
    • Appointment made by ÖVKG with the Chinese consular provider for the independent submission of fingerprints including collection of the passport, WITHOUT ÖVKG contact person on site - this service is only possible with pre-check (PRE-CHECK)
  • The ÖVKG continues to guarantee you comprehensive and transparent assistance with your visa application.

Please note that for all visa applicants who are not exempt from fingerprinting, a personal interview is required for the biometric collection. interview is required for the collection of biometric data. A presentation in the visa procedure, e.g. having fingerprints
