With 15.03.2022 the borders were reopened to foreign visitors and electronic visas for tourist and business purposes were issued again. The Consulate in Vienna will only issue business visas, i.e. tourist visas must be applied for electronically.
We would like to inform you, that consular provider fees for visa applications have been increased:
Regular Procdure 64,17€ net / 77,00€ gross
The consular fee will remain unchanged with 35.00€ for regular procedure and 70.00€ for express procedure.

The following visa categories can be applied for again since 01.03.2022:
Short-term visas for professional purposes (assembly or business trip)
Long-term visas, e.g. for employees on secondment to Japan.
The basic requirement for applying for a visa is an approval from Japan - this must be applied for online by the Japanese company at https://entry.hco.mhlw.go.jp/.
Please note that due to the high volume of interview appointments at the U.S. consulate currently only 4-5 weeks after the application is made. We therefore ask you to submit any applications at an early stage so that there are no delays.
With 21.02.2022, the Australian authorities open the borders for tourism and business entry. All categories of visas can be applied for again.
Please note the Covid-related evidence that must be provided upon entry.
